Mar Koochooloo
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Mar Koochooloo ("little snake" in Farsi) is an iteration of the snake game for Playdate with nine levels and a "Gentle Mode" for new players.
Classic Mode: The classic snake game, with 10 speed settings. It will probably take some trial and error to find the speed that feels right to you, but if you try one and you don't like it, you can press the Menu button and select "Options" to go back to the Options screen and try another.
Gentle Mode: The snake no longer automatically moves forward, and you can tap a direction to move one step at a time, at your own pace. You can hold a direction down to keep moving in that direction until you release the button to stop. The snake also isn't hurt by running into walls or itself. It's very possible to get stuck in this mode, but if that happens you can press the Menu button and select "Retry" to retry the current level.
I made the game for my daughter and collaborated with my super talented and prolific nephew who makes music as KRVB. He made the music and sound effects with GarageBand on his grandfather's old iPhone and was just 8 years old at the time, and the music is easily the best part of the game. If you enjoy the music, please leave a comment and let him know!

If you have a Playdate: this can be sideloaded in the usual way. Here's the official documentation.
If you don't have a Playdate: you can still play the game on Mac/Windows/Linux with Playdate Simulator. First, you'll need to download and install the free Playdate SDK. Then, unzip the Mar Koochooloo .zip file to get the .pdx file, and when you double-click the .pdx file it should open in Playdate Simulator.
